Proceed with caution if you have yet to see the Season Premiere of Son’s of Anarchy….
Sons of Anarchy has returned with it’s dirty, destructive goodness! Man, it feels good to see Jax (Charlie Hunnam) back on TV. The Son’s of Anarchy Season Premiere 5 did not disappoint. The season starts off shortly after Opie shot Clay (Ron Perlman) and Jax is appointed President of the Club. Within the first 6 minutes you get bikes, guns, fire, and sex. Yes Yes.Yes. And Yes! The one thing I am still missing is Jax’s hair. Seriously, grow those greasy goldilocks back out, please. Seeing Jax with the gavel is different and it will be interesting to see if it changes him.
Hold onto the simple moments.
The boring performance that has been Tara (Maggie Siff) needs to step it up a notch. Yes, she was almost kidnapped but her overall character is pretty humdrum lately. The issues between her and Gemma (Katey Sagal) continue as grandma gets mad that the kids are in daycare. Tara lets her know the pot and booze have to stop if she wants to be with her grandchildren, while at the end of the episode Tara turns off the baby monitor and smokes a joint.
Jimmy Schmitz as Neron, the companionator, has joined the cast this season. This should be interesting as a it looks like his rendezvous with Gemma is turning into something more. He takes in some of the guys when they have to go on the run to avoid their warrants. Wouldn’t be Son’s without someone going to jail.
Gemma and Clay. Seeing them in the same room, her hatred for him was felt through the screen. Her tone. Her body language. She wants so badly to love the old Clay but he’s gone. All he has left is the club, that is, if they don’t vote him out for killing Piney.
Finding things that make you happy shouldn’t be so hard.
The feuds continue and this season they seem to be badder then ever. Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau) is going to be the one controlling things this season from the way it looks. He made that clear when he burned Tig’s (Kim Coates) daughter in retaliation for him killing his daughter at the end of Season 4.
The Son’s of Anarchy Season 5 Premiere wraps up with two men busting into Uncer’s (Dayton Callie) house and beating him. One of the men has a prosthetic leg and seems to be a Nomad.
Do you think the club will vote Clay out?
What an amazing start to the season! I think that the humdrum performance we are seeing from Tara is her transforming from the uptight goody two-shoes that she always tried to be, into the “old lady” that Gemma is. She’s turning a little numb, it seems. Anxious to see what this season has in store for us!
It’s so hard for me to see Tara as the “Leading Lady” of the Club. I wonder if Ashley Tisdale will add some flame to the fire….she should be coming up soon and I have a feeling we may see her at Neron’s place….
